Gaia Green Diatomaceous Earth is a naturally occuring sedimentary rock consisting of the fossilized remains of diatoms - silica rich, single-celled algae. It is useful in encouraging retention of water and nutrients, while draining freely and allowing high oxygen circulation within the growing medium. Additionally, it is useful at controlling pests such as ants.
