Fir Bark mulch will suppress weeds and aid in water retention. It will give your garden a more rugged/country look.  The mulch is composed of Fir bark. It is reddish brown in colour. Remember when applying bark mulch to apply an all-purpose fertilizer such as 6-8-6 or milorganite before hand, as bark mulch depletes the soil of needed nitrogen as it breaks down.
